The Door Desk

Build yourself a large, economical desk with the Door Desk Kit! Just get a flat slab desk from any hardware store, this kit includes the frame and all the other hardware you'll need, but not the wooden desktop - you just need a door to complete it.

Most door slabs come 80 inches long, common widths are 24 to 36 inches. They usually cost around $30 - $50 for a plain flat slab. Please look at our other listings for the 30-inch and 36-inch door desk kits.

Both Lowe's and Home Depot offer plain door slabs of different sizes, if your local store doesn't carry the one you want they will usually ship it to your local store free of charge. Make sure you get a door with no carvings/decorations so that the work area is flat.
